After the Show
CLUSTERS OF GREY-- As a band, we hardly go anywhere to eat, to hang out. I don't know; I always thought there was no need for that, afterall, we see each other almost every week for practice or just for some jamming. But in the last two months, we actually went out to dinner, as a band after our gigs. Once, after a Home Owners Association Event, and last night after we finished opening for Festival of Lights Show. It feels good actually...to "bond."
I may have always thought that well, because Rashid is my husband and we see each other everyday...and go to sleep together every night, there is really no need for "bonding."And in Brian's case, we see him every week and we go to his store twice a month...so pretty much that's a lot of "seeing each other." But...NO! It's different, a feeling of a different kind of bonding takes place when you get together after a show...there may or may not be a beer or a wine involved, but it's great...
it's like seeing my husband as a different person, a musician that I play with;
a different respect, a respect for his talent;
a different love; a love for his passion for music;
For Brian, "MR B," thats what I call him, I do not see him just as a band mate, our drummer, and the owner of a store I usually go get my favorite ice cream....hehehe, but I get to know more about him things, experiences that makes us all laugh and get serious about sometimes...that's what we need to cover each others' back.
It does not matter if the show was a success or not, as long a we did our best, and we enjoyed doing it, that's what matters pretty much!
